Questions people ask

Which languages can it read?

English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Indonesian. Hindi, Telugu, other Indian languages and Arabic are in beta: printed text usually reads well, and we are still testing them on many kinds of scans.

Can it read handwriting?

No. It reads printed and typed text. Handwritten pages are kept as pictures with a note, so you never get guessed text.

Is my document uploaded for OCR?

No. The text reader runs inside your browser. It is set up once per language and then works even offline.

How accurate is it?

Clear printed text is usually read very well. Blurry photos, stamps over the text and unusual fonts are harder; a straight, well-lit scan gives the best result. Always check names and numbers.

Is OCR PDF really free?

Yes. Every PDFtoOne tool is free with no login, no daily limit and no watermark. The site is supported by ads.

Is there a file size limit?

We set no limit. Files are processed by your own device, so the only limit is its memory. Computers handle very large files; phones handle most everyday files easily.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once you have used a tool, it keeps working without internet. You can also install PDFtoOne as an app.
